Day 74 – Scale Work IS Fun

Yeah, it’s true. I’m one of those people who enjoy scale work. It begins as a challenge with the fingering, and once that’s figure out, it’s trying to get the brain to allow both hands to play together. Of course, there is muscle memory involved as well.

I’ve tackled 1/2 of my weekly lesson already in regards to scale work. Specifically, the major scale since I’m already proficient with that, but it never hurts to always review, and you should warm up every day with scales.

The minor scales are coming along. I’ve got two out of the five so far.

I also worked on some songs I’ve learned by ear to focus on subduing the left-hand a bit, while bringing out the right. I can already hear a big difference in my playing.
