We jumped right the Harlem Stride piece, “Numb Fumblin'” this week. What i had learned went over really well, and I received a great critique on things to work on. Pedaling being one of them. Not the priority, but just something to think on. I’ve got to push the pedal down to right where it starts to sustain, quickly lift off, and press down again. It’s going to be a challenge tracking the distance.
Scale work was next, and we talked about more major and minor scales. He gave me a brief preview of modes that we’ll start in a couple weeks.
I’ve lessons next week, but he won’t be attending due to a previous engagement, so I’ll have a substitute sit in. I’m quite curious as to how this will go.
